S H Figuarts Injustice: Gods Among Us Batman
Bandai Tamashii Nations have started to produce figures for the videogame Injustice: Gods Among Us through their S H Figuarts line. And when I saw just how cool these things looked, I found it very hard to turn down Batman.
Batman is one of my favourite superheroes (isn't that the same for EVERYONE?!) but I like getting him in some different costumes, and a new armoured up suit, complete with die cast pieces, had to become part of my collection.
Batman comes in a nice window display box, which shows the figure inside off nicely and displays the accessories. And Batman comes with a few.
Batman comes with several interchangeable hands (one of which kind of holds his grapple gun)
The grapple gun is surprisingly over sized. I really would have thought it would fit nicely into Batman's hands, but nope, it's sadly too big to fit well.
The grapple gun also comes with 2 attachments. A grappling hook and a grappling hook on a bendy wire
There are 2 batarangs which re nicely sculpted
Batman also has an interchangeable head. It really adds to Batman's overall look I think. It gives him this fantastic armoured up, ready to do battle look
And lastly, this isn't so much an accessory, but you also get Batman's cape which comes in 3 sections. Unfortunately the cape is a hard plastic mould which means you can't really pose it. In saying that though, it does look really nice. It's got a nice blue tinge to the blackness and the tears and tatters on the bottom are sculpted really nicely.
You can put Batman's 'middle' cape on separately but he looks much better with all 3 pieces clipped into place.
The work that's gone into this figure is just great. The details and paint work is just absolutely brilliant, and those details go right through the figure.
The gauntlets on Batman are incredibly sharp, as are the points of his ears but they look amazing!
Batman is super poseable too which should be expected from SH Figuarts. His head rotates and there's a joint at the base of his neck, his shoulders have a ball hinge joint, there's a bicep swivel, elbow joint and swivel, and his hands rotate round, up and down.
There's an ab crunch, swivel, hips swivel, double jointed knees, his ankles swivel rotate and pivot. And his cape swings out. In 3 places. Really, there's no lack of articulation in this guy!!
But for me, as much as I love the articulation, the best thing for me about Batman is the look. The gorgeous silvers, greys and blacks used on this figure look amazing, and the metallic blue on his armoured mask really pops.
There are a few die cast metal pieces on this figure too - the thigh guards and the ankle bracers. These help give the figure some nice weight and help him stand nice and steadily.
DC heroes, Marvel heroes, Star Wars and more coming your way soon! Go Figure!

NECA Alien 3 Dog Alien
The newest Alien wave from Neca has brought us Kane, Bishop, and the only figure I was really interested in, the Dog Alien from the much maligned (and in my opinion, much underrated) Alien 3.
In packaging, the xeno is in a foetal position with the tail wrapped around him - it looks very cool!
Out of the packaging, this is a huge and gorgeous looking Alien. I really think Neca knocked it out of the park with this guy. When he's not crouched, this is a seriously imposing xeno!
The colour is really great looking on the Dog Alien. He's a solid black but has an amazing brown paint over it that really brings out the detail. The skull is mostly clear which looks amazing, and has some smokiness at both ends.
The little inner mouth is a light grey, and his teeth are white.
Articulation is great on this Alien. His head rotates and tilts, his shoulders are on a ball and hinge joint, as are his elbows and wrists. He also has a torso crunch and swivel.
His hips are on a ball and hinge joint, double jointed knees, another joint in his calf (giving him a double jointed leg)and then he has a ball and hinge joint in his ankle. Lastly, after all of that, his tail is almost 12" long, swivels, and has a bendy wire in it. It's brilliant as it ends on a bad ass looking spike (which is a softer plastic).
This gives the Alien a great range of motion, but the best thing about this figure is that it comes with a stand - which in the writing of this review I have managed to break...
The stand makes posing this figure much easier (really hoping this glue holds...) and means you can get him in some great terrifying poses.
The stand though, is really quite brittle. Be really careful with it!
I am really happy with this xeno though, I really think Neca did a brilliant job in capturing the horror in Geiger's design here, with the shininess of the paint giving him a slimy look and all the sculpted details are immaculate. If you're into Alien or were thinking about picking this guy up, I would say go for it if you get a chance. I have a feeling this xeno might become quite difficult to come by.
Go Figure!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mini Ninja Figures
I'd never seen or heard of these guys before, but when I was walking through Asda I spotted them and knew I had to pick a few up!
These are compatible with Lego or Megabloks as they have holes in their feet that fit those pegs. These are just small figures, about an inch big, but they're quite fun!
I picked up 3 bags, each of which comes with a character card, and this is who I got
Dogpound, Metalhead and Shredder! Bit of a shame I didn't get any of the brothers, but these little guys are really quite fun!
No articulation on these little figures, but some nice detail and paint for their size. The lease pleasing is probably Shredder.
No purple paint sadly, but the silver that is used is pretty cool and very shiny.
Dogpound is pretty good looking, and they've given him some nice bulk seeing as he's only small
Sadly, he's bulky but short - just a little taller than Metalhead but much shorter than Shredder.
The detailing and paint is great on Dogpound though! Nice detailing in his face and paint apps on his legs.
Metalhead is my favourite though. I love his yellow paint apps on the detailing, and his shell is great!!
I'd like to try and get the turtles in this style, but that's the joy/curse of blind bag toys!
Glad I got to find these though, especially as I had no idea these were coming!
Go Figure!
