Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Sredder 2.0
This is the Shredder 2.0 figure - there was an earlier Shredder figure released but didn't come with his cape and was a little differently coloured. I went for his guy because 1: He's easier to find, and 2: He looks better with the Battle Shell Turtles.
Shredder comes in the standard TMNT blister package with some details of the character on the back and a list of figures that you can pick up.
Shredder is a very cool looking figure!
The paint work on him is excellent, with the rich black of his main suit, the silver highlights used really pop off of it. The light grey plastic used is really nicely sculpted into his blades, making him look like the formidable foe that he is.
I especially like the purple cape draped over his shoulders, which is held onto his back by a single peg so is removable. The cape is tattered and wind swept looking which really adds to how menacing this figure looks.
Shredder doesn't have the same articulation as the Turtles sadly, in that regard he's pretty lacking.
His head moves side to side, but only properly with his helmet off. When he's wearing the helmet, it slides up over his eyes as soon as you move his head side to side which is a shame, but not the end of the world. His shoulder mounted blades are articulated to move up and down so that his arms can move up and down at the shoulders, which can also move back and forth. His wrists swivel too, though I'm not sure why really as his wrist blades cover his hands making them a little obsolete. His waist swivels and his legs move back and forth, and that's his lot as far as lower waist articulation goes! He balances well though and you can get him in some cool poses.
I like that he comes with a removable helmet that is nicely sculpted in that shiny, light grey plastic.
Without his helmet... Well...
Ain't he pretty?!
The helmet fits pretty nicely on his head though, with his eyes looking out all sinister like
Shredder is in scale to the Turtles, being taller than all of them, and the Battle Shell Turtles are all a little bit different in size to one another. I'd be tempted to look for more of the Turtles enemies but I'm happy to have the four brothers and their main enemy just now.
I picked up all of these guys in stores in my local area, which is much more fun than ordering online - sometimes it's a necessary evil!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Shell Raphael
We've reached the last of the four brothers, and we're looking at my personal favourite Turtle - Raphael!
He comes in the blister card package which showcases Raphael up front, with the clear section in the back showing off his battle shell and extra weapons.
Raphael comes with his two sai which are a solid light grey/silver colour.
Raph's extra weapons that store in his shell are two half sai-like weapons and his two throwing stars. These are also in that same light grey colour.
And they fit in his shell nicely - and as you can see, his bandana is different in colour (obviously!) and style to that of his bros.
And he holds all of his weapons nicely, but looks badass with both his sai in hand!
Raph has two holsters on the back of his shell to store his sai, the same as his brothers. As far as articulation goes, it's exactly the same as the other three Turtles. His head's on a ball joint letting it swivel and tilt, his shoulders are on a hinge and ball so the arms can move back and forth and up and down, his elbows bend and rotate and his wrists swivel. His legs are also on a ball and hinge joint allowing them to move in and out and back and forth, and his knees swivel and bend.
Raphael is a really nice dark green making him different to the other Turtles, and he also has some different scuffs and damaged looks to his chest.
Raphael has a great paint job and, you guessed it, is cartoon accurate and just great looking. I'm really glad I picked up the four of these Battle Shell Turtles, they look great together, are all in scale with one another which is nice, and are nicely made and painted.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Shell Michelangelo
Michelangelo comes in the same blister card packaging that the other turtles come in with the same clear section on the rear.
Mikey comes with a pair of nunchucks which are nicely sculpted but are sadly one solid colour - orange.
He also comes with his extra weapons which are his chained/bladed nunchuck, and two throwing stars.
All of which, he holds nicely, and looks like he's having a great time doing it!
Michelangelo's head is on a ball joint meaning it swivels from side to side and up and down, his shoulders are on a hinge and ball joint so his arms can swivel and move up and down, his elbows are hinged and can swivel and his wrists also swivel. His legs move up and down at the hip, bend at the knees, and swivel at the knees.
He has space on the back of his belt to store his nunchucks, but as soon as you bend them, the develop an unfortunate white bend mark which doesn't go away once it's there. It is nice being able store both sets of nunchucks though. Also, Michelangelo has the shortest bandana out of the team.
Mikey has the whited eyes and is a nice light, almost lime green colour. And as much as I've said it over the course of these reviews, Michelangelo is, as we've come to expect from the Battle Shell range, cartoon accurate and very nice looking.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Shell Donatello
Donatello's up next for me to take a look at in the TMNT Battle Shell range.
And again, just like Leonardo, he comes in the same style packaging with the blister on the front showcasing the turtle inside, the small clear space on the back showing the shell compartment.
Of course, Donnie comes with his trusty bo staff that is in a solid wood brown colour, but is a really nice sculpt.
The smaller weapons that come with Donatello are again, 2 throwing stars, and a tri-split bo staff connected by a chain. These are also done in that solid brown colour, but the shuriken are especially cool looking!
Here are his extra weapons stored in his shell
Donatello holds all his weapons well, but I think he looks best with his bo staff. It's classic!
He also stores his bo staff nicely in the sheath on his shell
Donatello is a really nice colour, almost an olive green, with brown pads and a nice gold highlight on his belt. His bandana is a nice purple and is also a little different to Leonardo's bandana. His eyes are whited out which I think looks best for a figure this size.
The articulation on Donnie is good, with his head on a ball joint letting in move side to side and up and down. His shoulders are on a ball and hinge joint so that his arms can move up and down and swivel at the shoulder, his elbows have bend and swivel and his wrists also swivel. No waist articulation but he has hip joints and a knee bend that goes 90 degrees and swivels - this makes up for the lack of ankle swivel or pivot. This guy, just like Leonardo is an excellent looking figure, very cartoon accurate, and just really cool!
It's not his fault he's so gap toothed!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Shell Leonardo
I've been adding to my TMNT collection again, and I went for the Battle Shell series of the bodacious brothers. The reasons for this is that I like the little extra weapons but I really like the fact that these guys look so cartoon accurate!
The back of the packaging has a small clear area to see the weapons stored in the shell.
The weapons that Leonardo comes with are, unsurprisingly, his katana blades
Which are nicely sculpted but are one solid colour. The grey that's used isn't too bad though, it's light and kind of silvery. They also sit nicely is the sheaths on Leonardo's shell.
The other weapons that Leo comes with are a small dagger, a throwing blade and two throwing stars.
Again, these are the same solid silver/grey colour, but are nicely sculpted and are neat little weapons. Leonardo holds all of these weapons nicely.
Leonardo is a great colour of green, again, very cartoon accurate, and he has the cool whited out eyes and a great exciting dynamic look on his face.
His bandana is also different to the other turtles (you'll see those in future reviews!), their shells are all the same but the hinge is actually smaller than you'd think and doesn't really distract from the look.
Honestly, from the front I don't even really notice the hinge, it's most obvious when his arms are right up, but I can live with that for such a nice looking Leonardo.
Articulation wise, Leo is really pretty great. His head turns left to right and up and down a little, his shoulder moves up and down and has a joint that moves up and down. His elbow has a single joint and swivels, and his wrist moves around. His legs move up and down and swivel at the hip, his knees bend 90 degrees and also swivel. His feet are flat so there's very little in the way of balance issues so you can get this guy in some good poses!
I'm really impressed with this guy, and I'm glad I went for this more cartoony looking Leonardo. Stay tuned for a look at the other turtles and their most deadly enemy!
