NECA NES Robocop
Robocop is one of the best, most violent and most visceral action movies the 80's had to offer. This guy had to be mine for a couple of reasons: 1. I don't own a Robocop figure; 2. It's an excellent looking figure; and 3. it's Robocop that matches in with my Jason and Freddy!
Colour wise, he's a really dark and beautiful metallic blue with even lighter blue highlights. He has some black shading on his mouth which gives it some nice highlights.
Robocop is a brilliant likeness to his movie counterpart, he looks fantastic! I really like the look of this figure, great details in the helmet, shoulders and those pistons on his ankles are great. But the real stand out is the spring loaded hip holster that opens with a switch at the back and stores his gun. My figure seems to have a bit of an issue that the holster is a little fragile, but it's not so bad that you can't use it.
Articulation wise, Robocop is pretty good. His head moves side to side and up and down, he has armpit pivots and his arms move up and down, and he has a mid arm swivel (no wrist joint). He can swivel at his diaphragm, on my figure his left leg moves at his hip and moves up and down and his knees bends - this isn't the case on his right leg which his holster is on. His ankle doesn't even really move on his holster leg. His ankle on his left leg though moves his foot up and down, which interacts with the piston which is a really cool little feature.
I really like this guy, the highlights really work and look as though light is bouncing off of his metallic frame. This all makes him look like his videogame appearance. For me though, it's the sculpt that stands out. The feet and hands look so robotic, the pistons are very cool, his holster is a great touch and all the small touches in his armour just make this guy look like his movie counterpart.

NECA NES Freddy Krueger
I find it only fitting that I follow up NECA's 8-bit Jason with their take on videogame Freddy.
Again, this figure has the crazy trippy colour scheme in the same vein as Jason, mimicking the in game appearance of Krueger.
This guy is very cool and the only Freddy I own other than the small 2.5" Funko mini-mystery horror figure.
The sculpted detail in this figure is really nice. Especially in Freddy's scarred face
And that hat's removable to show off even more of his mug!
A face only a mother could love right there. But none of the mothers from Elm Street...
Articulation on this guy is minimal but enough to get him in a nice Freddy pose - which he's pretty much in anyway while in box. His head moves side to side, but only a little, his shoulders move back and forth, his elbows bend and his wrists swivel. His waist barely swivels, no articulation in the knees and his feet move up and down a little. Really, this guy is just for standing while looking sinister!
His glove is flesh coloured, but again that's in keeping with his in game look. I'm really glad I've added this guy to my NECA videogame inspired collection, he's really great looking and is a great partner to 8-bit Jason. Go Figure!
Fezbongo is my go to photo guy, he's a boss! Check his tumblr!

NECA NES Jason Voorhees
Ever since I saw this guy I knew I had to have him. I'm a fan of the Friday the 13th franchise and a videogame fan, so really it was a no brainer to pick this guy up when I could. Thankfully Amazon had him at a very reasonable price so he quickly became mine!
And look at him! Isn't he awesome?!
The packaging made to look like the NES videogame box art is great and it's even better that it's a hinged door to a window display of the toy, so cool. The colour scheme of this guy is crazy, but nails the in game look of Jason with his wacky purple and light blue colours.
The light blue of his mask (which is removable), shoes, hands, and blades of his machete and hatchet all glow in the dark which is a nice touch. This figure is from NECA so is just the same model of Jason that we've seen in the past, but that's no bad thing as he's a great figure. Here he is with my battle damaged Friday the 13th Part 3 Jason
As you can see (other than the battle damage of Jason's face) they're the same sculpt and figure, just updated paint jobs.
This NES Jason is excellent though, it appeals to the old school video game nerd, toy nerd and horror nerd inside of me all at the same time, which is just great!
Articulation wise, his head moves side to side and up and down just a tiny bit. His arms move out and up and down at the shoulders, a single elbow bend and his hands can spin right round and pivot a little. He has a bit of a diaphragm crunch, his legs move forward at the hips but not back really, his knees bend and his ankles move a little. It's not a ton of movement but enough to get him standing with no issues holding one of his weapons and looking menacing!
Keep your eyes peeled for my thoughts on the rest of the NECA 8-bit inspired figures, coming this way soon! Go Figure!
My man Fezbongo was good enough to take these shots for me so in turn you should go look at his tumblr, I'm hidden in there!

NECA NES Batman
I'm a big fan of the 7" NES inspired figures that NECA started with the amazing San Diego Comic Con exclusive Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, so I'm super happy to see another amazing character get added to this collection! Michael Keaton from Tim Burton's Batman!
Just freaking look at him!! I completely love those crazy colours that are taken right out of the 8-bit NES game. He comes complete with grapnel gun and batarang, and his cloth cape is removable. I can't wait to add him to my NECA NES collection - stay tuned for more on those! Go Figure!
