Lego Star Wars Microfighters AT-AT Set 75075

The second series of Lego Star Wars Microfighters have been released and having picked up the original trilogy vehicles from the first series, how could I turn these down? This series, which takes the vehicles from Star Wars, and shrinks them down into an utterly adorable ride on vehicle. I have only picked up the two original trilogy vehicles in this wave - the AT-AT and the Snowspeeder - and in this review I'll be looking at the AT-AT.

This set, as with all of them, comes with a minifigure. The minifigure with this set, is unsurprisingly, an AT-AT pilot.

And underneath the helmet, the Imperial officer looks nice and angry!

As far as the AT-AT goes, it's an easy build that takes about 15 minutes and looks great when it's complete.

And to give you a bit of size perspective

These really are small, but they look great! And they don't take up nearly as much room (or as much of a bite out of your bank balance) as the full size versions.

There is a little articulation in the vehicle. The head moves up and down and the legs move back and forth as do the ankles.

If, like me, you don't have the money or space for the full size versions of the vehicles from Star Wars, these are for you!

Star Wars Black Series #12 Anakin Skywalker

I don't like Anakin in the prequels. I don't think many people do to be honest. But he's a much better and more likeable character in The Clone Wars cartoons and that's one of the reasons why I bought Anakin to add to my collection. The other reason is because it didn't seem right having Obi-Wan from the prequels and not Anakin.

Skywalker senior comes with 2 accessories: his lightsaber and an alternate head with red eyes, to show when he fell to the Dark Side.

Personally I prefer Jedi Anakin's head over the Sith one. The hair sculpt just doesn't work for me on the Sith head.

The rest of the sculpt is good though, with the same sculpted robes as we've seen on Obi-Wan. Anakin has darker robes, all blacks and dark browns, with some silver and gold highlights. He also has his cyborg right hand which is nicely sculpted.

Anakin has the same articulation as the other 6" Black Series figures. His head moves back and forth (but not too far back due to his hair), and left and right. His shoulders move up and down, back and forward, there's an elbow bend and wrist swivel. There's an ab swivel and crunch, hips move out a little, and back and forth and there's a thigh cut. there's a double knee bend and ankle pivot, swivel and bend.

Just like Obi-Wan I was able to pick up a robe for Anakin in a dark brown which looks great and really adds some character to this figure.

I'm glad to have Anakin beside Obi-Wan in my collection - especially now that we're getting more Clone Troopers to back up the Jedi generals!

Star Wars Mission Series Coruscant

I'll be honest with you guys, I bought this 2 pack for the 501st trooper. I love the different paint compared to the shock trooper I picked up. So we'll start with Anakin.

He's a good looking little figure, my only issue with him is the red eyes that he's got. I assume that's because this is Anakin's return to Coruscant after giving into the Dark Side.

Anakin, just like the other 3.75" Star Wars figures I picked up, has 5 points of articulation. His head moves, his arms swivel and his legs move forward (this is the same on the trooper too).

The paint job is solid with nice dark browns and blacks, and his lightsaber is nicely sculpted and fits his hand nicely.

The trooper comes with a blaster which is nicely sculpted, and again fits well in his hand.

The paint on the 501st trooper is neat, and looks very cool when he's stood beside the shock trooper.

I don't think I'll pick up many more 3.75" figures (though I do have a 3.75" Black Series toy to look at - my first!), though I'll still be keeping my eye out for other Rebels characters!

Star Wars Black Series Wave 5 6" Figures

Just a quick post to say that I'm freaking delighted and super excited that I picked these up on my way home from Forbidden Planet. I just popped in on the off chance they'd have a Black Series figure I wanted, I didn't expect to find the whole of the newest wave!

Sorry for the poor photos - I'm really pretty excited to have found these so I just wanted to photograph them and get them up here!

I didn't go for the black pauldron Stormtrooper - I'm not in to army building, and I have a few troopers (my reviews of those will be coming up soon!). So happy to have got these though, can't wait to get them out the packaging and pose them around - Han and Chewie! Vader and Luke! Troopers and Vader! Brilliant!
