Star Wars Black Series #10 Obi-Wan Kenobi
I'm not a big fan of the Star Wars prequels but Obi-Wan is my favourite Jedi in the series so I was happy to pick this guy up from Amazon when it was VERY cheap. I'm talking sub £8 cheap.
Obi-Wan only comes with one accessory, which is his blue bladed lightsaber. It's a nicely sculpted piece with neat paint apps. The blade can also be removed from the hilt so that the hilt can be attached to Obi-Wan's belt.
Obi-Wan is a nice looking figure, with nicely sculpted robes - the robes have a nice wool looking texture to them and a nice light brown dry brush that brings out that detail. The skirt part of the robe is a soft rubbery plastic over a soft goods skirt - like we've seen with Darth Maul before.
The paint apps are nice and near over this figure, the eyes are neat and the beard and hair have a nice dark wash to bring out the details, but he also has the distinct white flashes of hair at the side of his head.
There are browns for his boots, belt and under shirt (that you can see under his chin).
There are darker browns and silvers on his belt, that also has sculpted pouches which look really nice.
Overall I think this is a really nice sculpt and quite a good likeness of Obi-Wan.
The articulation is what we've come to expect from the 6" black series figures. The head is on hinge and ball joint so it can look up and down and left and right, his shoulders move up, down, back and forward. Hi elbows bend and his wrists swivel.
Obi-Wan has an ab swivel and crunch, his legs move forward and back and outward a little, a thigh cut, a double jointed knee, and ankle articulation.
I did think something was missing though, and that thing, was a Jedi robe. Thankfully, this is where eBay comes into play.
I really like the robe on this figure. I think it adds a lot to this figure and really, for the price of these figures normally, a robe is something that should have been included originally.
Stay tuned for more toy reviews coming up, including more Black Series figures, Batman, Turtles, and more!

Funko Sci-Fi Mystery Minis
I pre-ordered these months ago, and they finally arrived! I love the Funko mystery minis, they're great little figures.
So this series of mystery minis are all sci-fi themed filled with a plethora of characters. In total there are 17 figures and 13 characters.
The characters available are: Xenomorph (both normal and metallic), Predator (normal, bloody, and "invisible" clear versions), ET, Captain Mal, Jayne, Robby the Robot, Tron (normal and glow in the dark), Spock, Robocop, The Rocketeer, Judge Dredd, Mars Attacks Martian, and Metaluna Mutant.
Out of these figures I really wanted: either of the xenomorphs, any of the predators, Captain Mal, Jayne, Robocop and Judge Dredd. But to be fair, I like these figures so much that any would suffice.
So let's take a look
The figures are a little less glamorous when they're out of the boxes and just left in their blind black bags.
Anyway, I ripped the first one open and found...
Glow in the dark Tron! Great looking mini fig, brilliant colour. Really captures the look of the movie character and even includes the throwing disc.
Second figure I got was probably one of the figures I wanted the least... Look I'm a Wars guy.
But don't get me wrong, this is another great looking figure with really neat paint. And it's fun that Spock comes with the weapon that he fought Kirk with in that one episode... I'm sorry, don't judge me.
And lastly I got one of the figures I really did want!
Murphy!! The real proper Robocop! (Not a fan of the Robocop re-make, I won't get into it) but this guy, is great!
Amazing sculpt, likeness and paint. Just great. Love this guy.
Like all the Funko mystery minis, these don't have any articulation, but when the mini figs look this good, articulation isn't needed.
I'd really recommend these if you're a fan of sci-fi or just the Funko mystery minis in general. Great stuff.

NECA Aliens Xenomorph Warrior
Next up, I'm going to be looking at the Xenomorph Warrior from NECA.
I love the Alien franchise (yes, I even have a soft spot for Resurrection) but I'm gutted about this figure. And I'll tell you why.
Firstly, this is a gorgeously sculpted figure and the blue black shine that's on it makes it look slimy and wet. Incredible stuff from NECA.
I hate to do this to such a lovely looking figure, but I want to get these negatives out of the way.
My problem's are hopefully issues with my figure and my figure alone. Firstly, the waist joint is super loose and there's a big blob of glue on the back of the figure which is a real shame.
The top fin, the one under the head, is only sitting in place, it's not glued in and falls off easily.
One of the feet is glued in place and doesn't move.
The jaw is off centre, difficult to open, and you can't take out the small inner mouth.
And finally, one of the small tubes leading from the jaw to the back isn't connected like the other one.
All of these things mean the figure doesn't stand properly which makes posing it almost impossible. It's a real shame for such a great looking figure.
However, let's have a look at the positives.
Like I said, this is a great looking figure. Beautifully sculpted and brilliantly creepy.
The joints that work are good. The wrists have nice full articulation, the head moves up and down a little, there's a hinge at the shoulder (which doesn't work on my figure), a ball joint at the elbow, ball joints at the hips and a double joint at the knees... Well, only the one knee on my figure has a double joint. The other knee has one joint glued shut. The feet also have a mid foot hinge.
One of the nicest pieces on this figure is the tail. It's creepy, serated, and bendable, which would make posing this guy much cooler!
I have to say though, that I've used a little bit of heat and I've managed to loosen the stuck foot and knee joint, and this did help a couple of issues. I'll also glue the top fin back into place, and I'll need to glue the small hose into place. This isn't really expected on a NECA figure, and yeah, it's pretty disappointing.
In saying that though I would recommend this figure. I'd really hope you didn't end up with one like mine though.
More Alien goodies will be on the way before the end of the month so stay tuned!
